PROVO, UT - How do you go from feeling blue to tickled pink? Try coloring. Some adults find coloring to be a good way to unwind.
Color enthusiast Lisa Moos said, "After a very stressful day at work dealing with cranky people I will come home and I will sit on my couch and I will just color."
Coloring books are not quite art therapy, but some experts say they help adults get in touch with themselves and fill in the blanks, so to speak.
"Taking a pencil, a marker, a crayon and actually putting it to paper helps a person ground in the moment, and seems to pull them out of their head," said Jason Conover, a licensed clinical social worker with Utah Valley Hospital.
So, don't let all the stress cause you to black out, unless you're grabbing a box of crayons and a coloring book. It might just be a your way of keeping life's perspective between the lines.
