The City of Hollywood is focused on supporting the business community by taking steps to back business growth and development in Hollywood. One of the many important programs recently launched is the Attainable Housing Initiative to promote the development and expansion of quality housing options in the city of Hollywood.

“We have new, attainable, quality housing that is being developed along key commercial corridors throughout the city. One of the exciting projects that just broke ground a few weeks ago is by Housing Trust Group, called Hudson Village. It’s located on South Federal Highway in Hollywood. It’s a beautiful mixed-used development, that will be really attainable to a mixture of incomes.” said Raelin Storey, Communications, Marketing & Economic Development Director, City of Hollywood.

The Hudson Village project is an impressive eight story, 96-unit development, the first of many planned along the South Federal Highway corridor. Also, conveniently located near Downtown Hollywood steps from the Dixie Highway corridor is the recently completed Senior Affordable Housing Project called Pinnacle at Peacefield.

“It’s 120 town homes that are really targeted towards people 55 and plus, who can enjoy our downtown. And what it has to offer but at a cost that makes it possible for them to enjoy the amenities of our downtown,” said Storey

The City isn’t just focused on new development, Hollywood is e also supporting homeowners through an innovative agreement with Broward County and the Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency.

“With this partnership we’re able to take excess tax dollars that are generated on our beach and invest those dollars into existing housing stock in Hollywood, to improve aging housing stock. And we’re working on a housing rehab as well. This will take older housing stock and make it better and keep it affordable,” says Storey

Longtime residents will tell you, if you’re looking to move to a place to call home, look no further than Hollywood.

“The city is in the heart of South Florida, between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. It has easy access to things South Florida has to offer. We really enjoy that hometown quality of life in Hollywood, where you have that hometown feel and have a true historic downtown. And for people wanting to be able to access everything in South Florida, Hollywood is a great base for that and to the degree that we can make that experience attainable for everyone by supporting quality, new, affordable and mixed income housing developments. That’s really an important way we can back businesses in the city of Hollywood.” States Storey.
