‘Nashville’ actress in treatment for postpartum

Posted

“Nashville" actress Hayden Panettiere has checked into a treatment center for postpartum depression. Ten months after giving birth, she is getting help.

It is a situation similar to what her character has been going through on the ABC show.

The American Psychological Association says between nine and 16 percent of postpartum women experience depression, and that jumps to 41 percent if they have had it before.

According to Mayo Clinic, symptoms include thoughts of harming the baby, excessive crying, overwhelming fatigue, shame, and fear of being a bad mom.
