More than 89,500 pounds of beef are being recalled because they could be contaminated with wood, according to the USDA.
Huisken Meat Company, based in Minnesota, announced the recall Monday. It applies to Sam's Choice Black Angus Vidalia Onion sold at stores nationwide, the company said.
The burgers are marked with "Use By" dates of May 17, 2016, May 29, 2016, and June 6, 2016, and were sold in 2-pound boxes containing six patties.
Officials said the wood "originated with an incoming ingredient" and was discovered during production. No reports of illnesses have been connected to the recall.
Anyone who has the burgers are warned not to eat them, but instead throw them away or return them to the store where they were bought.
