Work can be stressful, but it’s nothing puppies can’t fix!
As part of its “snuggle delivery” program, the Humane Society of Broward County will actually bring puppies to your office. It’s a program that was started to relieve employee stress. The hospital staff at Broward Health hosts one every other month.
"I look forward to this, I come all the time just to hug 'em and kiss 'em and play with them" says Ann Moslowitz, a volunteer at Broward Health.
Medical Staff Coordinator Teresa Colaluca adds "when you’re stressed out going crazy like we always are here at the hospital... when you can come over here and just spend time with these sweet animals, it's wonderful."
It’s wonderful for the puppies, too. Kimberly Hernandez, a HSBC employees says "at every snuggle event, at least one or two get adopted."
And not just by the employees. An unexpected trip to the Emergency Room brought Karine Castryck and Michelle McGovern into the hospital. "Our grandmother's having a pacemaker done today," says McGovern. "Grandma's upstairs, we're down here," adds Castryck.
For these two, who have been planning on adopting a new dog, it seemed like the perfect thing to cheer grandma up. "When we were upstairs, she asked where we were going, I said we're going to get you a present" says McGovern.
It’s a gift that, from the looks of it, will help this 95-year-old patient recover in no time! "Yeah, that’s a happy face," McGovern says of her grandmother's reaction to the new pet.
