HOUSTON, TX- Gone so soon, yet his spirit more alive than ever.
Fans worldwide pay tribute to the legendary Prince, including here in Houston.
87 AMC and Carmike theaters around the country are playing Prince's 1984 film to honor the late icon.
Debra Roy, visited AMC Willowbrook 24, Houston's only location playing the film. "I've been a Prince fan since I was five years old, I had zero plans to come to the theater today and I then I heard that Purple Reign was playing".
You can catch the film on the silver screen through April 28th.
The film, a semi-autobiography, is one of the star's many masterpieces.
When the movie first came out, it made 70 million at the box office and won an Oscar for "Best Original Song".
There's no doubt he's one of the greatest. Roy agrees: "he could do everything and he did it brilliantly, with style".
Overwhelming worldwide tributes are proof, his legacy will continue through his fans.
