Minneapolis, MN - The more we learn about the death of Prince, the more tragic the news seems to get.

Minneapolis Attorney William Mauzey gave new details of the iconic singer's last days alive.

Mauzey says the day before Prince died, Prince's staff contacted an addiction specialist in California-- requesting help, saying the singer was "deaing with a grave medical emergency."

So the doctor launched a mission. "And that mission was to get Prince to a doctor in Minnesota," Mauzey related.

The California doctor sent his son on a red-eye flight to meet Prince and take him to the local doctor's office.

"Andrew's purpose in being there was to describe the Recovery Without Walls Program," Mauzey explained. "To familiarize Prince with that. "

But sadly, Prince never made it to the doctor's office.

"Dr. Kornfeld was never able to meet Prince, never talked to Prince and, sadly, not able to arrive in time," Mauzey remarked.

Mauzey says when the doctor's son arrived at Prince's estate, Paisley Park, no one could find the legendary singer.

"One of the staff members started screaming," Mauzey shared.  "Andrew heard the screams and went to the elevator, where he saw that Prince was unconscious."

After they found Prince, 911 was called, but it was too late.

Now, everyone is left to wonder "what if" Prince had gotten help....even just a few hours earlier?
