NEW ORLEANS, La - When it comes to online dating sites, how do you know if the person on that profile is really who they say they are? Now, there's an app for that.
Check out Stroovy; the app that lets you "authenticate before you date," screening a person using references.
"It's like Yelp for online daters," says former New Orleans Saints wide receiver, Quinn Early, who created the app to help make online dating safe.
Users read reviews of an online dater before going out with them, or write about a date they went on.
"You can get your family, friends, even exes to write you a positive review. You don't necessarily have to be on a dating site to write a review, but you do have to be on a dating site to have a review written about you," says Early.
With Stroovy, you might stop liars and cheaters dead in their tracks; but, lying and cheating is not the only downside to online dating.
Many online daters have trouble "clicking" with the right person. Nevertheless, if you're looking for love online, it might not hurt to Stroove before you groove.
