Cleveland police left in a jam after new riot gear does not fit

CLEVELAND, OH - An effort to get the Cleveland Police Department suited up ahead of the Republican National Convention has backfired.

New riot gear ordered ahead of the event set for July 18, isn't one size fits all.

"We have some smaller police officers and some much larger police officers that this stuff is never ever gonna be able to fit," said Stephen Loomis,  president of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen's Association.

The police union says the gear came in two sizes, and they don't seem to work for every officer on the force.

There isn't much time to fix the wardrobe malfunctions.  Cleveland officers say they need the gear before the Republican National Convention.

At the end of the day, size matters, and this big and small issue has left the Cleveland Police Department in a squeeze for the time being.
