NASHVILLE, TN – J.J. Watt won’t be quitting his day job as the Texans Pro-Bowl defensive end, but hosting awards shows suits him pretty well. Watt co-hosted the CMT Awards on Wednesday night with sportscaster Erin Andrews. Watt held his own, introducing presenters and delivering jokes.
Watt also made light of his role as a bachelor, asking one female audience member, “I like naps and pizza, you interested?”
He had fun giving country music superstar Carrie Underwood a hard time for being married to a NHL player, Mike Fisher. Fisher responded by pretending to take his coat off, to which Watt replied saying, “I like to hit people in Nashville.”
There were no fights, just more bits for Watt to carry out. While Watt is still very early in his NFL career, maybe this will be a building block to a future career in the entertainment business.
