Now, lovely ladies between the ages of 14 and 19 years old, will strut their stuff in a new competition to show their "athleticism."
Sporty looks are focused on physical fitness and women who lead active, purposeful lives. It sends a more positive body-image for its younger participants vying for the crown.
The motto behind Miss Teen USA is "confidently beautiful," so change may not be such a bad thing.
The next Miss Teen USA competition will be held July 30, 2016.
