Cross-dressing for the day makes one Texas mom a hero

FORT WORTH, Texas - Most moms will do just about anything for their kids; it's called a mother's love.  In Fort Worth, they're calling it “cross-dressing for a cause!”

Yvette Vasquez is no imposter, but she did don a costume recently.  Vasquez is just a single mom who didn't want her son to miss an event at school just because it was for dads. So she did the only thing she could think of.   She decided to “man-up” at the last minute and hang with son Elijah for "donuts with dad."

Images of the mom clad in plaid and a fake mustache have gone viral. She posted it isn't easy for her children to see other dads with their kids. But it's life.

"At least I can do whatever it takes to put a smile on that face,” she said.

She may not have fooled anyone with her manly attire, but she did win the hearts of other single parents around the world.

Way-to-go, mom! We're nominating you for “Father of the Year!”
