TAFT, California — The puppy countdown is on for Chanel, a golden retriever who wound up finding internet fame after her owner posted photos from a canine maternity shoot on social media.
Chanel’s owner, Kennedy Sorensen, of Taft, California, posted photos on Twitter of her “fur baby,” where they have already received more than 22,000 retweets and 36,000 likes.
The photos show Chanel in a flower necklace posing with LeeRoy, the puppies’ father. Amy Rients, LeeRoy’s owner and a professional photographer, took the photos that have become an internet sensation, but she says the idea for the shoot came from Sorensen.

The two met through a dog groomer, according to WTMJ, and their beloved pooches were a match from the start.
“I have never bred a dog before,” Sorensen said. “Chanel was able to bring so much happiness into my life I wanted to be able to spread that kind of happiness into other people’s lives and I thought puppies would be a good way to do that.”

The shoot apparently took only an hour, made possible by “lots of treats and patience,” Sorensen said.
Chanel is expected to deliver by Oct. 12.
