What happens now that ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ broke time?

“Legends of Tomorrow” executive producer Phil Klemmer hinted that the final 45 seconds of Season 2 finale would change the game, he wasn’t kidding. After traveling back in time and meeting themselves, the Legends caused a time storm that has seriously screwed up all of time.

While they may have saved the day, destroying the Spear of Destiny, their celebration of a job well done was short-lived… We did see dinosaurs roaming Earth in modern day Los Angeles when the Waverider crashed.

Let that sink in.

“We broke time,” as Sara (Caity Lotz) tells her team.

Seeing that, you can understand why Season 3 won’t be as simple as a mission-of-the-week. The fabric of time itself is a mess, thanks to the Legends — and that’s something they’re going to have to live with and attempt to mend.

But what does that mean for Season 3? Clearly, the team has to do something to set time right but given that every single time they do anything the circumstances just get worse, we’re not sure what the answer is.

So allow us to speculate here a bit. One single fix certainly isn’t going to be the answer. Rather, chances are the Legends are going to have to jump around throughout the past to right their mistakes, putting time back exactly as it was. Perhaps that’s where whoever next season’s villain is comes in. They could be created by the team, as the result of their changing the events of time.

As for whether this will have any ramifications throughout the “Arrow”-verse, it’s hard to imagine that it won’t. While we definitely don’t expect to see Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and his team fighting dinosaurs in the streets of Star City, as time is slowly repaired by the Legends there should definitely be hints of it seen on the other shows.
