Peaceful protests have been happening through our community in the past couple of days. At night, rioters are looting businesses in Miami.

Miami-Dade County Mayor, Carlos Gimenez, issued a curfew to reduce the violence and the looting.

"I'm ordering a curfew county wide to protect the lives of all our residents, to honor George Floyd, and to those who seek justice. I ask for our residents to honor him by going home," said the Mayor.

This comes as Miami-Dade beaches were set to reopen after being closed due to COVID-19. They remain close until curfew is lifted.

Today in our SoFlo scene, if you want to just take a moment to clear your mind, here’s what’s open in South Florida.

Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood beach reopened to the public last week. Sunbathing, walking, jogging are allowed and, of course, social distancing is encouraged.

The Florida Keys have reopened to visitors after two months of being closed. Checkpoints have been removed and hotels and lodging will be allowed to reopen at 50% capacity.
