Hearts and stomachs were full at the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s 6th annual “Wings For Wishes” fundraiser on Saturday.

The non-profit raised thousands of dollars during their wing-eating competition block party in South Miami.

"'Wings For Wishes is a wing festival. It started off as a wing eating competition and has now turned into a block party festival. Teams of four eat 50 wings as fast as possible. The top six teams advance to the finale, they eat another 25 wings. And, we crown one champion at the end of the day," said Gal Bensaadon, co-founder of "Wings For Wishes."

For those not competing, the fundraiser featured ten tasting stations along with drinks and plenty of games for kids and adults.

At the end of the day, everyone was there for a good cause.

Attendees shared their thoughts about the event.

"It's very special to me because I am a cancer survivor as well. And, it's really exciting to be a part of this event," said cancer survivor Sandra Rivera.

"To be able to make a difference and have a good time at the same time, I mean that's all you can ask for," said Christina Echavarria.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida actually surpassed their fundraising goal at "Wings for Wishes" raiding over for $350,000, enough to grant over 50 life-changing wishes for critically ill children.
