Raise your thermostat. It’s hotter in the summer, so your A/C runs longer to keep you cool. FPL says that for every degree you raise your thermostat, you can save 5% on your monthly cooling costs.

In order to keep your A/C running smoothly and efficiently remember to change or clean your filter regularly. What does that mean? Well, FPL recommends changing the filter about once a month.

Use fans wisely. Yes, your ceiling fan can help keep you cool, but it doesn’t actually cool your room. When you leave a room, turn off the fan. FPL says you cans save about seven dollars a month on your bill.
