Amid COVID-19, Local South Florida Businesses Are Bringing The Entertainment To You (UPDATED)

Covid-19 has prompted closures and shutdowns to non-essential businesses, schools, and more.

Staying at home, doesn’t mean you have to feel boxed in. Last week, the Museum of Discovery and Science and Perez Art Museum Miami kicked off their virtual entertainment on social media.

This week, more local South Florida businesses are joining in on the virtual fun for you and your entire family.

Jungle island is telling kids and parents to stay in your shell.

Miami’s premier eco-adventure park introduced a new virtual online learning opportunity.
From Monday to Friday at 11am go to Jungle Island’s Facebook or Instagram live to join the park’s education manager Emma Guss in virtual learning. Each week they’ll have different themes such as Everglades exploration, spread your wings, primate practices, and more.

The Miami Children’s Museum is launching Museum at Home.

They're launching new inventive, imaginative, and fun activities on their YouTube channel.

You and family members can enjoy story time, where daily the museum’s theater troupe takes you on a theatrical, lyrical, and whimsical journey through classic children’s books.

The museum will also be launching art projects very soon.

Bonnet House Museum & Gardens present a virtual and vintage tour to their museum

The tour is based on a greeting vintage video and it provides a broad history of the property and a visit to the second floor.

You can enjoy the four-part virtual tour at bonnethouse.org.

Also, getting in on the virtual fun is the Boys and Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade.

Youth members can participate in fun activities virtually, such as arts and crafts, virtual get-togethers, homework assistance, and so much more.

All activities are conducted via Zoom and schedules vary by club and age-group.

The Museum of Discovery and Science will be implementing distance learning videos starting on Monday next week.
The videos will be available during the weekday. All you have to do us just subscribe to their YouTube channel.

Each day MODS will have a different activity which will include:

Slime of the day, camp activities, animal meet & greets and more!

There will also be shows such as the Nitro & Sound show and Otter talk.

Another museum doing their part virtually is the Perez Art Musuem Miami.

They will be adding more digital tours and art-making videos in the upcoming days.
