As businesses throughout our community is picking back up the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau wasted no time in moving up one Miami's beloved programs.
For the first time ever, Miami Spice will last four months. Miami Spice which usually begins in august is program that showcases the very best of Miami restaurants featuring three course meals for $25 for lunch or $39 for dinner. And during these difficult times the restaurants need the help.

"So we have brought back Miami Spice earlier than ever. It typically begins August 1st, now it's June 1st. We have about 140 restaurants that have already joined. And half of those have their menus are up on our Miami spice website. And it's going to be for four months. From June 1st till the end of September, you will have the opportunity to enjoy Miami-Dade's most amazing culinary experiences. Last year we have 260 restaurants, we do anticipate as the summer progresses and as most restaurants do reopen, we will have close to that amount. We are encouraging people to go to our website," said Rolando Aedo, Chief Operating Officer, GMCVB .

One of the restaurants participating in Miami Spice right now is Villa Azur in South Beach.

Villa Azur offers french Mediterranean dishes prepared with an Italian twist. The restaurant had to close during the pandemic. But as Miami-Dade is at phase 2. Their kitchen and dining room has reopened. Executive chef Carlos Torres couldn’t be happier to be back but he does stress the importance the restaurant is taking regarding all safety precautions.

"Every employee that comes in, come through the front door, there's someone taking their temperatures. There's hand sanitizers everywhere, we have masks. Gloves are changed every 20 minutes. We do six feet apart tables, there are tables that are more apart. We have a great outside patio and our indoor is really big so it allows us to bring a good amount of people and make sure everyone is safe," says Torres.

Now let’s get to the food! To see what we cooked up in the kitchen you can click on the video.

Villa Azur's Miami Spice menu changes every two weeks and it includes dessert such as their Dark Chocolate Tart and their Classic Tiramisu. Their spice menu is set at $39 for three courses and for those who don't want to dine in they are offering their spice menu for takeout and delivery.
