October is first responders month at firehouse subs. And in honor of that, they brought back their annual fundraiser to help first responders in our community.
Founded by two firemen in Jacksonville, FL, Firehouse Subs has been serving up subs for over 25 years.

With 1200 stores across the nation. Subs are just a part of Firehouse's story. The restaurant
has the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

The foundation has donated more than $53 million to support hometown heroes.
This October firehouse celebrates first responders month. And this year’s theme is “Help The Helpers”

"Right now with the COVID-19 situation, we feel like we need to help the first responders that are on the line helping all of the people that are going through Coronavirus. We are selling medallions this year. This year you can buy the medallions in any Firehouse Subs restaurant or people can online and buy the medallions," says Carlos Ramirez, owner of Firehouse Subs Plantation.

Locally, Firehouse Subs Plantation has supported first responders in their city in a variety of ways.
"With the Plantation Police Department, we have done three grants with them. We've given them equipment as well as the Plantation Fire Department. This year we are giving the Plantation Police Department a utility car that is going to be one of the biggest grants that has been approved by the Public Safety Foundation," states Ramirez.

In 2019, the city of Plantation suffered an explosion in a plaza right across Firehouse Subs. Carlos immediately served water and food for the first responders on sight.
Deputy officer Darren Brodsky from and the Plantation Police Department appreciates all the support Firehouse Subs has given them.

"This foundation that they have has provided us an opportunity, recently, to access a grant. What we are purchasing is a utility vehicle, which is going to allow us to provide services to the community. That otherwise we wouldn't have been able to provide, " states Deputy Officer of the Plantation Police Department.

The medallions price vary from $1 -$100, if you want to know more information on how to donate you can go here
