The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) North Miami held a virtual performance on New Year’s day in honor of Haitian Independence Day.

There was music from Haitian American artist Jan Sebon and his daughters Inez and Michnique Barlatier.

Author Fabienne Josaphat read several of her poems. To see clips of their performances watch this report from our Kirk Gimenez.

The virtual performances coincided with MOCA’S current exhibition “Life & Spirituality in Haitian Art: Selection from the Betty and Isaac Rudman Trust Collection” which is open through March 14th, 2021.
