Here are some easy-to-follow tips on how to save energy when using electronic devices at home.

Number 1:
While working from home, your computer needs some rest in-between those virtual conference calls. FPL recommends using sleep mode when inactive to save up to $20 per year for each computer in your home.

Number 2:
Use Smart Power Strips that can detect when a device is in standby mode. FPL says you can save up to 30%. Smart power strips regulate energy use on things like your computer, scanner and printer.

Number 3:
Since we’re spending more and more time at home, make sure your TV , gaming system and smart speaker are turned off or unplugged when not in use. However, don’t worry because increased use of such devices will not raise your bill significantly.
