For 10 weeks, Meals on Wheels South Florida set up grab and go locations throughout our community providing free and healthy meals all summer long to kids 18 and under.
In Opa Locka the students at South Florida School of Excellence are picking up their last meals of the summer. For four years, the school and meals on wheels have partnered up to give meals to students.
"This help has tremendously changed the lives of young children, especially during COVID-19, where unemployment rates are high. But we have worked throughout the summer with the help of Meals on Wheels to help feed every student," says Batul Maniar, Principal of South Florida School of Excellence.
For parents of these students, the meals have been a tremendous help during this difficult time.
