Former Miami Marlins player Jeff Conine got to play the role of Santa’s helper at a “Winter Toy Drive-Thru.” Conine, known as Mr. Marlin, joined volunteers, including his two grown sons, in collecting more than 300 toys for sick children at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and other Memorial Healthcare System facilities.
Three South Florida companies, Just Play, Basic Fun!, and Jazwares donated some of their most popular toys and products for the kiddos to help them celebrate the Holidays while they're getting medical treatment.
Conine has worked with Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital for more than 25 years. The hospital even has a Conine Clubhouse, where the toys were collected earlier this month.
Conine said these amazing donations will help the sick children feel like they're being treated like, "family."
