The newest thought provoking art exhibition at the Perez Art Museum Miami is being displayed just in time for National Poetry Month. The "Artist As Poet" exhibit displays work from a wide range of mediums.
What started as a research project lead to the idea of text and object coming together. Maritza Lacayo curated the display after learning about the way text and object can come together to be equally as important to art work.
Lacayo says the show is a love letter to books, language, surrealism. It took her months of research to put the exhibit together, and most of the works were donated to the museum. There are over 50 works in the collection that have been rarely seen.
