When Randy Hass's kids all grew up and moved out, he decided to become a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters Broward County to continue mentoring kids and teens. Now, he's been voted Big Brother of the Year for the Broward County chapter, and is in the running for the national title.
Hass says mentoring is what he enjoys most. Even in his job as a criminal defense lawyer, he takes the time to offer advice to any juveniles he represents.
His Little Brother has special needs, but he says that didn't hinder their relationship. The pair have been matched for several years now, and Hass says it's been a new type of relationship because he never had a little brother to mentor.
