C Food Shack is the newest addition at food hall, Lincoln Eatery. This is the first location for the Caribbean seafood concept with its original location in Nassau, Bahamas and it's the only seafood restaurant at Lincoln Eatery.

C Food Shack is a play on words as the C stands for the executive chef and creator of the restaurant, Laron Culmer.

Culmer has been cooking up these seafood delights since 2013. He was born and raised in the Bahamas but he’s also lived in Florida. Culmer wanted to incorporate the Florida and the Caribbean flavors into his cooking calling it, Floribbean.

"Our goal was to kinda bring a little bit of Florida to Nassau. Now that we're coming over here, we wanted to bring a little bit of Nassau and Caribbean to Florida. That's the goal and that's the concept right now. Floribbean seafood takeout," says Culmer.

From variety of dishes like crab mac and cheese, grouper with fries, chicken waffles and their unique assortment of sauces all made in house. The family restaurant represents all the culinary influences Culmer has been taught.

"Our goal with selling seafood here is that I believe our competition sells high-end seafood. They almost make it unattainable. It's either that or it's low-end seafood and it's a little rubbery. We want to be that great middle point, where we could showcase proteins and other parts. And that's what we want to do with C Food Shack," stated Culmer.

C Food Shack was set to open back in march, but with the COVID-19 pandemic, it delayed the opening. But now as businesses are slowly reopening, Culmer wasted no time in opening his doors and welcoming the public this past week

"Even though there's a lot going on with Coronavirus, protesting, hurricane season, slow season on South Beach. I'm almost crazy to open up right now. To be honest, it's the Lincoln Road, it's the Lincoln Eatery, people are going to be shopping. We got stuff on the menu from Trinidad and Tobago to cabbage from the Haitian community. So we tried to attack every diverse target market with this concept and brand and we plan on doing this for the rest of the year," said Culmer.

C Food shack at Lincoln Eatery is open daily from 11 am to 5 pm and serves brunch, lunch and dinner. To see their menu head on over here or follow them on Instagram at @cfoodshackmiami
