The Early Learning Coalition of Broward is here to help your child prepare for the next step of schooling. Offering year round services, the company's CEO, Renee Jaffe, spoke to the importance of this program.
The coalition's voluntary pre-k program, or VPK, is a state-funded which provides support for children who are about to enter kindergarten. The program is open to children who are residents of the state and between the ages of 4 and 5, depending on their birthday.
"They provide educational support, they follow curriculum, so that day one in kindergarten they're ready to go and on track to start learning," says Jaffe.
There is a school year program for VPK which runs for the length of a usual school year, but there's also a summer program. The summer program is shorter, and the days are longer. Due to COVID class sizes have been reduced from about 20 students to about 12. VPK is also offered in the public and private setting.
