In this new normal, birthdays are now being celebrated through Zoom or Facetime. But these group of local teachers have gone beyond their virtual classrooms to surprise their student for his 8th birthday.
Ms. Vee Patterson and fellow KIPP Sunrise Academy teachers, decorated their cars with birthday signs and drove by Devin Williams house in liberty city for a surprise "Parade and wave" celebration for his 8th birthday.
Devin is a student at KIPP Sunrise Academy also in liberty city and he is in Ms. Patterson's second-grade class. Devin’s infectious smile and the teacher's excitement for his surprise were all videotaped and photographed on his mom’s cell phone.
