South Florida baseball hero Anthony Rizzo presenting a $1 million check to the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation on November 24, 2019!
The big check being handed over during Rizzo’s 8th annual walk-off for cancer. More than 1,200 people participated, raising $1.3 million dollars to help families struggling with a child’s pediatric cancer diagnosis and treatment.
This is an update to a story we previously reported of how Rizzo, who’s from Parkland, survived cancer and went on to win the 2016 World Series with the Chicago Cubs.
His focus through the Anthony Rizzo family foundation is to help families who are dealing with pediatric cancer.
“I want everyone to know that you’re not alone,” said Rizzo.
