With Super Sunday approaching, Green Thumbs and the NFL unite for Green Week!
A week long's worth of projects include many initiatives in an effort to make a more Eco-friendly environment, right here in Miami, ahead of Super Sunday.
One of the green events involved volunteers planting trees and plants at Ad Barnes Park in Miami.
"For the last 27 years, NFL Green greens up the whole city where the Super Bowl has the big giant event but its been 27 years. And when the Super Bowl hit Miami, NFL Green knew exactly where to beautify the community with Miami-Dade parks," said Fanny Navarro, Miami-Dade County Parks Eco Adventures coordinator.
NFL Green Week is a monumental effort. For instance, they have people from Miami-Dade parks, the NFL and local volunteers all chipping in.
Green Week runs January 14th through the 18th.
