The Hype and Glitches of the New Attraction at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge: Rise of the Resistance

Thursday, December 5th was one of the biggest days for Disney and Star Wars, as one of the most anticipated attractions in Disney parks history opened in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The new ride, Rise of the Resistance, is a unique and immersive experience that puts guests right into the middle of the fight with the First Order.

The attraction combines five million lines of computer code with animatronic figures, physical sets, digital projections and special effects to create a 15 minute ride experience, unlike anything ever built by Disney.

We were there on hand for the media preview on Wednesday and it only took a couple of hours for the ride to suffer its first major shut down to due technical difficulties. On its first day open to the public, it left some people stranded in the middle of First Order’s ship. But, the shutdown didn’t last too long, thankfully.

These kind of delays are expected with a new ride like this, because there are still some kinks to be worked out. Even with the possibility of a shut down, the ride is definitely worth it!
