Back in March, The World Health Organization announced globally that COVID-19 was characterized as a pandemic. Since then, to protect themselves from the Coronavirus people began to buy disinfectant sprays, sanitizing wipes, and hand sanitizers off the shelves. Two months later, the demand is still high and its barely found in stores.

Luckily, these South Florida companies partnered up in producing hand sanitizers for the community.

Toast distillers, a subsidiary from the Miami Distilling Company, is known best for its well-line of local spirits such as Toast Vodka, Miami Club Rum, and Pitbull’s Voli Vodka. They have teamed up with The Veritas Farms, a Ft Lauderdale agribusiness who focuses on producing full spectrum hemp CBD products and Cosmetic Corporation of America, Inc, manufacturer of skincare and body products to produce the hand sanitizers.

"We've known Toast [Distillers] and we've done different events together with them... The collaboration started with how we can go forward and help the community with this need out there with sanitizers. So, we fell from a wellness and health benefit that we're already in with the CBD side as something we can add to the community," said Alexander M. Salgado, CEO and co-founder of Veritas Farms.

The hand sanitizers contain 70% alcohol, aloe vera, and vitamin E. From development to bottling the hand sanitizers everything is made locally in house at Cosmetic Corporation of America, Inc.

"With the team of chemists that's on board, when it comes to blowing the actual bottle that you use, everything is actually being done in Medley. Production start to finish, from the alcohol, blowing the bottle, and also having the assembly line, which is FDA approved. We manufacture everything," said Dieuveny "DJ" Jean Louis, the founder and CEO of Toast Distillers

All three companies know the demand is important and are working tirelessly to aid everybody in the community.

"This is just not about us selling hand sanitizer, we got involved where we’re servicing the Army, Navy, and the base of Florida that need the product. We have trucks going out everyday, we're servicing the community. We know that as well because we put those as priority. A lot of sales are coming in but we also look to see who really needs the product when it comes to people working in the frontlines. This why this synergy is happening with Veritas. This is a big deal for us but we're also here to serve the community. We already have other facilities that we're looking out to expand in the business," said DJ.

The hand sanitizers are in such high demand that Toast Distillers is currently hiring people. For more on that you can head on over to sflcw.com and click "The Rebound". To
