For over 15 years, United Way of Broward County’s Women United has been leading the charge in Broward County. They are a powerful network of philanthropic women confronting critical issues in the community.

This year, United Way of Broward County’s Women United will host their 9th annual Magnolia Luncheon, celebrating the women for their advocacy and policy work throughout the past year.

This year the luncheon is a bit different as it’s being hosted virtually.

"A lot of the women that are attending this luncheon have been engaged with us for the past year or years. It's an opportunity for us to reflect on what we've done in the past year. We want to thank everyone who has been a part of that but we have a lot of women who have heard of us or were invited by women who were engaged with us. This our opportunity to introduce them to what we are doing and ask them to be a part of it. We also have an amazing keynote every year and this year is Col. Nicole Malachowski. We're super excited about that and we're excited that we'll still be able to bring this message of women, philanthropy, advocacy, engagement, and also this motivational inspirational speaker," said Mary Beth Albritton, PH.D., Vice President of Major Gifts United Way of Broward County.

"I love to get together with like-minded people. There are lots of different ways to serve your country and your community. I did it wearing my nation's uniform, these ladies are down there in there communities making a difference everyday. It's extraordinarily inspiring to me. To be honest, growing up as a fighter pilot in the air force, there weren't a lot of opportunities to get together with other women just because we weren't in numbers like this. For me to join forces with the women of the United Way of Broward County is exciting for me because I get to meet all these extraordinary leaders. they are changer-makers and role models to me as well," said Col. Nicole Malachowski, keynote speaker.

All proceeds of ticket sales will benefit United Way of Broward County’s COVID-19 relief campaign, which will be used for two areas, food assistance and emergency financial assistance.
