“We’re looking to hire in this market alone in South Florida, an additional 20 to 30 people. That’s from office staff to field technicians to install crews,” said Anthony Perera, President of Air Pros Air Conditioning.
Air Pros AC is looking for employees with minimal experience to give people who may have lost their jobs, a chance.
Anthony says the company started with one truck back in 2017. Now they have over 100 trucks across 12 different offices in five states. With the continuing growth of the company, they’re looking for more people to join the team.
“We don’t really require that you have experience. Experience helps if you're going to be field service technician. We also have Air Pros University. We actually can train not experienced people to become certified technicians,” said Anthony.
“I had no AC experience before working here. The employees and everybody is very helpful in getting you knowledgeable. They put your hands on immediately, getting to know your way around the systems,” said Christopher Strockis, recent hire.
Christopher was hired in July. He worked in the automotive industry for years, but lost his job due to COVID.
“It hurt a lot because my wife is a school teacher and we have two young boys so I did have to make the sacrifice to not be with them so much and take a job like this, where it’s definitely full time. AC is definitely considered an emergency. The process was not as smooth but they gave me comfort here working with them, with Air Pros. There’s plenty of opportunities for work here,” added Christopher.
Now he’s a field supervisor at Air Pros AC and is grateful for the opportunity.
“To work in something like this where I can be hands on, which I’m more skilled in, and take on these challenges with ease,” said Chris.
As for that $5,000 bonus?
“We’re offering a $5,000 signing bonus to anybody, based on qualifications. So if your friends, your brothers, or neighbors, whoever they are, if they qualify they can definitely achieve that $5,000 signing bonus right now,” added Anthony.
