LAT Service Group, located in Margate, is a multi-service business that’s hiring.
“Accounting, bookkeeping, financial consultation, tax preparation, life, health and legal insurance,” said Loreen Thomas, CEO/President of LAT Service Group.
The company started in 2011 and currently has six employees and they’re looking for one more to join the team.
“That position is an accountant specialist. They would be assisting the accountant or the bookkeeper with bank reconciliation, credit card reconciliation, and some office assistance. Data entry and various duties,” added Loreen.
Requirements include basic computer and accounting skills but Loreen says they offer a training program for those who need extra help.
“I didn’t know anything about accounting, so she would teach me. It was really good for me. Now I can teach someone else how to do the work,” said Abigail Georges.
The small and intimate setting is what 23-year-old Abigail loves about the company.
The current college student found out about the job opportunity through CareerSource Broward’s “Get Real Program”, which serves high school graduates by offering career guidance and job placement opportunities.
Abigail has been working for LAT Service Group as an accountant tech for three years but is switching her career. She’s majoring in criminal justice but says what she learned at the firm is going to be useful for her next job.
“She’s very good at teaching people. She has a humble heart and she’s always looking out for people. It doesn’t even have to be about the job, she even helps you with your life. She always encourages you,” said Abigail.
