Located on NE 3rd street in Fort Lauderdale, Top Hat Delicatessen has been serving up classic deli offerings for four years.
Just like the rest of the restaurant businesses in South Florida, Top Hat is abiding to the new normal and is still operating by offering take-out, curbside pickup, and delivery. They’re even adding new specials on their menu.
“Right now, what we’re doing is we’ve reopened one of the restaurants that we had closed called Red Cow, so we’re doing it as a pop-up shop. That’s going to be Fridays and Sundays, where you can get barbecue. Wednesdays, we just started last week, where you’re having a pizza party. You can order pizza, chicken wings, and there are salads. It’s gone very well, we actually sold out last week and we already sold out today,” said Julio Hernandez, general manager at Top Hat.
You can’t forget about the kids! When you order an entrée from Top Hat, you can also order a home school lunch for your kids.
“We started this a few weeks back, so for every entrée that you buy, you buy a home school lunch for your kids at $2.50. It’s been very successful. Every week, the menu does change. We’ve had chicken fingers one week, today it’s going to be two burgers, they get a fruit with that and a cookie,” said Hernandez.
Top Hat thanks the community for still supporting their business and going above and beyond through these difficult times.
“We’ve had a lot of regulars that have come in and are really being generous. All the gratuity is going to the service staff that’s not working. It’s being split up and forwarded to them. We’ve also had some individuals come in who’ve purchased foods to take to the hospitals, Holy Cross and Broward. We feel really good about that, that we are able to support them in those ventures,” said Hernandez.
