Miami-Dade opened its first Coronavirus walk-up testing site located at the Holy Family Catholic Church in North Miami.

Mayor Carlos A. Giménez appeared at the site on Monday and stated that the site is for residents who show symptoms or those who were in close contact of someone who tested positive for COVID-19. Like all other Miami-Dade testing sites, the walk-up testing site is by appointment only.

Appointments can be made up to 3 days in advance, and the call center opens at 9 AM, daily. If you or someone you know is showing symptoms of COVID-19, call (305) 499-8767 to book an appointment for testing. The site will be able to test up to 150 people per day and will be open for testing from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.,Monday through Saturday.

The mayor also stated that more walk-up testing sites will be built in the future. Unlike drive-thru testing sites, walk-up testing sites are for those who don't own cars.

"Personal responsibility is key as we start moving to a new normal," Gimenez said. " By remaining vigilant and expanding testing, we'll be able to create a healthy community where I keep you safe, you keep me safe."
