WSFL has partnered up with Meals on Wheels South Florida to help those struggling to make ends meet and provide food for their families. The nonprofit’s mission is to end hunger across all ages with kindness, dignity and compassion. Meals on Wheels South Florida serves over 10,000 clients every year. Programs include the Senior Meal Program, where meals are delivered to homebound seniors who can’t get the food they need. Meals for Companion Pets, a program that helps feed pets of homebound seniors. A shopping program, where volunteers shop for seniors who can’t navigate a grocery store and a Summer Breakspot program for kids.
To help fund these programs, WSFL and the Scripps Howard foundation donated $22,000 to Meals on Wheels South Florida.
The foundation has seen an increase in the need for food across all the communities that we serve.
We’re challenging our communities to step up and fight hunger among the most needy. If you’d like to contribute to Meals on Wheels South Florida, click here.
